Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
pdfortis.com and the PDFortis app are operated by ZINTRA (Colombia). By using the site you accept these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.
2. The service
PDFortis offers free tools to work with PDF files and images. Processing happens in your browser, except for the translation tool, which sends text to an external service after you consent.
3. Scope of the legal and document tools
- Signatures: the signatures applied are visual signatures (an image and text). They are not digital signatures certified by an accredited certification authority.
- SHA-256 certificate: proves that a file has not changed since the fingerprint was computed. It does not identify the author and is not a timestamp issued by a trusted third party.
- Bates numbering, folio numbering and document indexes: they number pages and build indexes automatically. Always check the specific requirements of the court or office where you file.
- Redaction and the Personal Data Detector: redaction removes the content of the areas you cover on the redacted pages. Automatic detection is an aid and may miss data or flag data that isn't personal. Review the result before sharing it: data on other pages, in comments or in attachments is not removed.
- Passwords: if you forget the password of a PDF you protected, it cannot be recovered. The password removal tool only works if you know the password.

4. Responsible use
You are responsible for having the right to modify the documents you process and for not using the tools to forge documents, impersonate others, bypass protections on documents you are not authorized to open, or for any unlawful purpose.
5. No warranties
The tools are provided "as is". Always keep a copy of your original file. We do not guarantee that the service is error-free or always available.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site, nor for the loss or alteration of documents.
7. Advertising and third-party links
The site may show ads and third-party links. We do not control and are not responsible for their content.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia.
