Privacy Policy
1. Data controller
ZINTRA, based in Colombia, is responsible for the website pdfortis.com and the PDFortis app. Contact: [email protected].
2. Your documents are not uploaded to our servers
PDFortis's tools process PDF files and images inside your browser. The content of your documents is not sent to, stored by or accessible to us. When you close or reload the page, the files are cleared from your browser's memory.
The fonts and the libraries the tools use (including the password encryption engine and the Excel library) are hosted on our own site. The only exception is OCR: when you use that tool, your browser downloads the recognition engine and the language dictionary (Tesseract) from cdn.jsdelivr.net, because those files weigh tens of megabytes. Only the software is downloaded; your documents are never sent.
Exception: the "Translate PDF" tool. To translate, the text extracted from the document is sent to the MyMemory translation service (Translated S.r.l., api.mymemory.translated.net). The tool only does this after you explicitly tick a consent box. Don't use it with confidential documents. That text is handled under MyMemory's privacy policy.
3. Data collected when you visit the site
- Site server: as with any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and technical browser data in order to deliver the pages. We don't use Google Fonts or other third-party networks to load the site.
- OCR: only if you use that tool, cdn.jsdelivr.net receives your IP address when the text recognition engine is downloaded.
- Advertising (Google AdSense): this site may show Google ads. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalization in Google's My Ad Center.
- Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland: before advertising cookies are used, a consent notice managed by Google is shown, where you can accept, reject or customize.
We have no sign-up forms and don't store user accounts.
4. Purpose and legal basis
Technical data is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fund it through advertising. Personalized advertising is based on your consent where the law requires it.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012), you may have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent and to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We'll respond within the legal time limits.
6. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes to this policy
Any changes will be published on this page with the update date.
